The current system of security deposits is a poor investment for stakeholders, such as lessees and lessors. Returns are expropriated by either intermediaries or agencies for no service beyond registration and holding of the deposit. These same services are provided by Carta, using smart contracts and a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) but the earnings on the deposit are paid to the stakeholders.

Omer has worked in pricing, regulatory, risk and portfolio management roles for a wide variety of traded and non-traded instruments and markets for a Big 4 Bank. He has structured solutions for multiple Australian and global clients in property, government, manufacturing and other financial intermediaries. His innovations during his tenure have incorporated software development, data-driven techniques and insights to the deals and portfolios originated, traded and managed.
Omer’s international experience includes investment-based roles in a Toronto investment bank and the Bank of Canada. His experience covers advising on the risk and performance characteristics of diverse portfolios and investment strategies, and regulatory and monetary policy for domestic and international banking.
Omer holds a Master of Finance degree from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.

Nadia is an internationally acclaimed Professor of Finance known for her research, teaching and expertise especially on financial intermediaries, Blockchain and Digital Currency. She is currently a faculty member at Melbourne Business School, the University of Melbourne. Previous appointments Schulich School of Business, York University and University of Alberta.
Nadia has extensive experience as a consultant for financial intermediaries and served as a consultant for the Bank of Canada (the Canadian Central Bank), where she designed a state-of-the-art system to optimize the production and the circulation of the currency in the economy. She was an expert witness for the Canadian federal government investigation into the competitiveness of bank service fees.
Nadia holds a PHD Economics/Finance from Queen’s University and a Master of Economics from the University of Waterloo.
